Welcome to the Printable Timeline on WriteBonnieRose.com!
I love timelines! I have purchased entire books of them. This series of timeline index cards is designed to help you and your child create your own timeline. It’s highly customizable to your needs. Each entry on the Timeline page links to a post that contains:
a) A history worksheet related to the event.
b) An illustrated timeline card that contains space for the student to write the date and fact. It also contains Key Phrases to allow you to further customize the type of timeline you’d like to create (i.e., American history, Asian history, science and inventors, etc…). These are only suggestions; feel free to add your own or not use them at all.
c) A blank timeline card that allows you to illustrate the featured date or create a timeline card for any date you choose.
The back of each card is a perfect place to store additional facts or for kids to illustrate the fact for themselves!
There are lots of fun ways you can use timelines in your learning. You can file them in a box or file can, attach them to a clothesline with clothespins (for fun moving and manipulating the dates), attach them to empty household containers (such as empty sauce cans, etc…), post them on a bulletin board, etc… Younger students may enjoy sticking them to a wall, the edge of a table, or anywhere that they can enjoy moving and walking through their timeline from beginning to end. You can find more timeline ideas here. This is another great resource for timelines. The possibilities are endless.
If you have a fact or theme you’d like me to explore, please let me know! Leave me a comment or e-mail me at writebonnierose (at) gmail (dot) com. I’d love to hear from you!
