The Draw & Explore series is a great way to combine art with subjects such as history, geography, social studies, Bible, and science. A short description of ten different items related to the topic is given. Each is followed by a related image on a grid. Next, students can do one or all of the assignments that follow. They can draw half of the image in a grid that shows the left half of the picture, half of the image in a grid that shows the right half of the picture, or the entire image on an empty grid. This makes the unit completely flexible for both left-handed and right-handed students. Review questions and an answer key are also included.
The Draw & Explore for Kids titles are different from the other titles in the Draw & Explore series because of the types of images used. The images in Draw & Explore for Kids are generally younger-themed and slightly less realistic. Young students are encouraged to draw as much of the image as they can, even if it is not the entire image.
