Description
Pennsylvania is home to hundreds of kinds of birds as well as more than sixty kinds of mammals. With the Birds & Mammals of Pennsylvania Notebooking Journal, students have a chance to explore 70 of these animals and record key information about each one, such as its average size, color, preferred environment, and characteristics or other facts. They can also draw or cut and paste a picture of the animal from a magazine or resource. A blank page is included in case a specific favorite or local animal isn’t listed.
Just a few of the animals included are the American avocet, bald eagle, barn owl, black bear, coyote, eastern chipmunk, elk, mourning dove, Philadelphia vireo, pileated woodpecker, red-shouldered hawk, savannah sparrow, turkey vulture, white-tailed deer, wild turkey, and yellow-bellied sapsucker. There are many more for a total of 27 species of mammals and 43 species of birds. 74 pages total. Ages 8-13.
