Description
This Deserts of the World Compare and Contrast Notebook is designed to help students research and discover 28 deserts from around the world. It includes multiple activities for students to research and then compare and contrast the deserts. For example, they could choose to compare and contrast the Arabian Desert and the Atacama Desert.
For each pair of deserts studied, there is a research page where they can record answers to questions about the deserts such as where each is located, what kinds of animals live in each desert, what kinds of plants grow in each desert, and what the average temperature and precipitation in each is. The second activity is a pair of Venn diagrams to complete. The third assignment is to draw a picture of the desert and some of its plants and animals and note which are included. The final assignment is for students to create flashcards to help them remember key information about some of the plants and animals studied.
Worksheets for comparing 28 deserts in 14 pairs are included. A blank set of worksheets for comparing additional deserts or comparing two of the deserts in a different pair are also included. 64 pages total. Ages 8-13.

This gives one such insight into the different deserts. Really worthwhile doing and a great resource.
