Description
The Draw and Explore Geography series is a great way to combine art and geography. A short description of each state is given that includes when the state became a state, its major cities and regions, and additional information such as mountains and other key features. Each is followed by an image of the state showing the cities and regions on a grid. Next, students can do one or all of the assignments that follow. They can draw half of the image in a grid that shows the left half of the picture, half of the image in a grid that shows the right half of the picture, or the entire image on an empty grid. This makes the unit completely flexible for both left-handed and right-handed students. Multiple review activities as well as an answer key are also included.
Volume 3 includes Illinois, Alabama, Maine, Missouri, Arkansas, Michigan, Florida, Texas, Iowa, and Wisconsin. 44 pages total. Ages 8-13.
This volume is also available as part of the Draw and Explore Geography: United States, Vol. 1-6 Bundle.
Would you like to learn more state history and geography? Check out Exploring the United States. These volumes match the states covered in Draw & Explore Geography (though there is not a Volume 6 for these series yet). You can choose from a series of coloring books (print or cursive for elementary), activity/puzzle books with map work (elementary-middle school), or more advanced books with timelines, critical thinking, and map work (high school).
