Description
The Draw and Explore History series is a great way to combine art and history. A short description of ten different tools used in American colonial times is given, each one focusing on a different type of trade or task. Each is followed by an image of the tool on a grid. Next, students can do one or both of the assignments that follow. They can draw half of the tool in a grid that shows half of the picture, or they can draw the entire tool on an empty grid. Ten review questions and an answer key are also included. Tools included are apothecary tools, blacksmith tools, butter churn, candle making tools, drawknife, milking stool, peeling iron, plow, sickle, and spinning wheel. 26 pages total. Ages 8-13.
