The Draw and Explore History series is a great way to combine art and history. A short description of ten different men and women from the Renaissance is given. Each is followed by a picture of the person on a grid. Next, students can do one or both of the assignments that follow. They can draw half of the portrait in a grid that shows half of the picture, or they can draw the portrait on an empty grid. Ten review questions and an answer key are also included. People included are Nicolaus Copernicus, Vasco da Gama, Leonardo da Vinci, Albrecht Durer, Galileo Galilei, Henry VIII, Johannes Kepler, Michelangelo, William Tyndale, and William Wallace. 26 pages total. Ages 8-13.
