Description
Take your students deeper into the history and culture of the Arapaho, Crow, Sioux, Paiute, and Shoshone people with this history unit. Each culture is explored and illustrated. Students can learn about their ways of life, food, clothing, daily chores, and more, as well as the history of the people. A brief look at other tribes of the Plains and Great Basin region is also included. A concluding activity challenges students to record a piece of oral history, as they have learned the importance of oral history to the tribes studied.
Ten review questions test reading comprehension of the material studied. An answer key is included. The unit is in black and white, however, as a bonus, eleven full-color pages are also included to show students the artistry and environment of the tribes. These pages are optional and do not need to be printed. They can be displayed on a computer or other device. If working with multiple students, printing and laminating the pages is also an option so that they can be passed between students. 43 pages total. Ages 8-13.
