I confess that there have been more than one occasion when my family and I have filled more than one shopping cart in one trip to the grocery store! What would we do without these baskets on wheels? If you were around in 1937, you might have an answer to that question (and if you do, I’d love to hear about it in the comments!). We owe the invention of this modern convenience to Sylvan Goldman, who first had the idea in 1936. Sylvan was the owner of a chain of grocery stores. He developed his idea, put it into use in 1937, and shopping has never been the same since!
Have you ever daydreamed about what it would be like to win a shopping spree? I know I have! Try this Fill the Shopping Cart printable game and snatch a lesson in serving others at the same time.
