Franklin D. Roosevelt was the thirty-second president of the United States. When he was elected president in 1932, the country was suffering through the Great Depression. Eight days after his inauguration, he delivered the first of what became known as the “fireside chats.” These radio broadcasts were designed to help comfort and reassure the people while going through these very difficult times. Today’s printable is a copywork excerpt from that first fireside chat.
