Did you know that today about 750 million people around the world have no access to clean water? I cannot imagine living with that reality, yet 3/4 of a billion people do every single day. That includes men, women, and children. Can you imagine bathing your baby in dirty water or giving your toddler a cup full of dirty water to drink, knowing that with every sip of water, they risk contracting a disease that could kill them?
Yet this IS reality for millions. They simply have no choice. It’s dirty water or dehydration and death. Period.
Today is World Water Day, a day set aside to remember those who struggle to survive without the most basic of necessities. It’s a day to pray for them, to remember to be grateful for the water you drink, the water you wash your clothes with, and the water you take a shower with. And, if you’re able, it’s a day to consider donating to help relieve the distress of many. One water filter can turn disgusting, deadly water into what it was meant to be: life-giving refreshment. It is so important that every country around the globe has access to clean water.
