Dedicated to the zillion-and-one ways God gives us to be creative.
Gifts come in a variety of sizes and shapes and packages. Some, you have to put together. Some need batteries. And, some, you have to learn how to use. It’s exciting to receive gifts. And, I discovered, God loves to give gifts. “…How much more will your Father in Heaven give good gifts to those who ask Him!” Matthew 7:11 NIV*. He is the ultimate Gift Giver. After all, He gave us Jesus to rescue us from sin and death.
God also loves to create. He created the world and all sorts of wonders. He re-creates our hearts when we ask Him to be in charge of our lives. And, He gives us ways to create, too. Each thing we create is special and unique. No one else can ever do something exactly the way you do. When you make something for the glory of God, you put part of your heart into it. And that makes it a gift God can only receive from you.
Sometimes, it takes a while to put together what it is God wants you to do. And, sometimes, you have to learn how to use the gifts He’s given you. But, He will never reject a gift that has come from your heart. Never.

All sorts of gifts
These are just a few of the gifts God has given people to use for Him: making a special card, writing, stitching, beading, drawing, running, building, fixing things that are broken, discovering things, cooking, organizing, growing things, painting, telling stories, making people laugh, helping people, making things out of wood, taking care of people, creating websites, designing video games and apps, taking care of animals. The list is endless. What has God given you a gift to do?

Sometimes, God gives us a special gift for a specific job He wants us to do. Check out the story of Bezalel and Oholiab in Exodus 31. Bezalel’s job was to make all sorts of things for the tabernacle. Oholiab’s job was to help him.
