The story of Mary, Martha’s sister is a story of someone who put the Lord above all other things. Even when Jesus came to visit the home of Mary, Martha, and Lazarus, she sat at the feet of Jesus and listened instead of busying herself with chores. Then, later, on the day before Palm Sunday, Mary anointed Jesus’ feet, even though others complained about what she did. As you share the story of Mary with your little ones, encourage them that Jesus wants us to always put Him first in our lives and that He always sees what we do for Him, even when other people don’t or don’t understand. His love, acceptance, and knowing that someday we will hear His words welcoming us into His kingdom are more important than anything anyone else could ever say or do.
