I don’t know about you, but there are some things that I take for granted that they have just always been around. I’m not talking about modern conveniences that are part of our daily routine (though it’s hard to imagine a world without many of them). I’m talking about basics—like chocolate chip cookies. Can you imagine a world without chocolate chip cookies? Once on a long family road trip, stopping for a bag of three chocolate chip cookies at McDonald’s well after midnight gave the driver and the passengers just enough “fuel” to keep going until we reached our destination!
But according to history, Ruth Wakefield invented the chocolate chip cookie in 1930. She owned and operated the Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. One day, she had the idea to breakup bars of semi-sweet chocolate and add them to her cookies. The rest is culinary history!
Today’s Missing Chocolate Chips printable is for younger elementary kids. See if your family can help a pile of lost chocolate chips find their way back to their cookies!
