Trapped by an ancient system, the Sargara people do not associate with those of lower castes. Nor are they allowed to mix with those of higher castes, even for a drink of water. The result? A community of over one-hundred thousand people, largely forgotten by their neighbors. No one is known to be actively sharing with them the life that Jesus gives. Saachi had given up on life. Her husband’s affair, and the shame that she had brought to herself and her family in the difficult days that followed by doing the unthinkable while providing for her children, was too much to live with. But, in the midst of her suicide attempt, she cried out. Neighbors responded. And, during her recovery, she met Jabeen, another woman whose husband had abandoned her.
