Help students experience the Apollo 11 mission from the time President Kennedy made the promise to land man on the moon to the ticker tape parade that welcomed the astronauts home. They’ll meet Neil Armstrong, Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin, Michael Collins, James Lovell, William Anders, Fred Haise, Dr. Thomas Paine, Nancy Roman, Margaret Hamilton, Katherine Johnson, Gene Kranz, Steve Bales, Jack Garman, and President Nixon. They’ll learn about the Saturn V, the Eagle, and Columbia. They’ll also learn about some of the experiments the men conducted such as the Passive Seismic Experiment and the Solar Wind Composition Experiment, as well as some of the equipment they used such as the Lunar Surface Magnetometer, and the Laser Ranging Retroflector. They’ll see the splashdown, the rescue by the USS Hornet, the quarantine, and finally the ticker tape parade in New York City.
