The 10/40 window refers to an area of the world where many people are focusing their prayers and their efforts to bring the light of Jesus Christ to some very spiritually dark places.
According to the Joshua Project, the 10/40 Window is a group of 68 countries or territories primarily located within 10 and 40 degrees north latitude. The list of countries has been revised over time to include several countries that are close to this region that have high numbers of unreached people groups. These are people groups who have not heard the Gospel, have not had a meaningful chance to understand and respond to the Gospel, or have very few if any Christians.
The 10/40 Window includes more than 5 billion people in more than 8,800 different people groups. Of these 5 billion people, just over 3.25 billion people from more than 6,000 people groups are unreached. The 10/40 Window contains all 50 of the world’s least evangelized megacities that are home to more than 1 million people each. More than 8 out of 10 of the world’s poorest people live in the 10/40 Window. It also includes 41 of the top 50 countries where it the most dangerous to be a Christian, according to the 2023 World Watch List by Open Doors.
The countries in this region include:
Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Benin, Bhutan, Brunei, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Chad, China, China, Hong Kong, China, Macau, Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Korea, North, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Maldives, Mali, Mauritania, Mongolia, Morocco, Myanmar (Burma), Nepal, Niger, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria, Taiwan, Tajikistan, Thailand, Timor-Leste (East Timor), Tunisia, Türkiye (Turkey), Turkmenistan, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, West Bank/Gaza, Western Sahara, and Yemen.
Please join me in learning about and praying for these precious people.
