Farms, Gardens, and You is a fun card game that helps kids learn about the journey some foods take to arrive at our stores or in our kitchens. A set of six cards is included for each of the 15 featured foods. The object of the game is to get as many sets of cards as possible. Each card has a number 1-6 to show where it falls in the sequence and the name of the set it belongs. Two versions of the game are included, one in color and one in black and white so students can color their own version if they wish. Blank cards are also included for adding to the game. The game can be played with as many or as few of the sets as you choose to create a longer or shorter game. 28 pages total. Ages 5-7.
The foods included are: bread (from wheat to store); chocolate (from trees to chocolate bars); eggs (form chicken to store); orange juice (from tree to store); grape jam (from vines to sandwich); mashed potatoes (from seed potato to dish of mashed potatoes); apple cider (from tree to ready to drink); applesauce (from apples to ready to eat); maple syrup (from tree to ready to enjoy); milk (from dairy farm to table); and pumpkins, strawberries, green peppers, cucumbers, and tomatoes (from plant to fully grown).
