Draw and Explore Science: Landforms: The Draw and Explore Science series is a great way to combine art and science. A short description of ten different landforms is given. Each is followed by an image of the landform on a grid. Next, students can do one or all of the assignments that follow. They can draw half of the image in a grid that shows the left half of the picture, half of the image in a grid that shows the right half of the picture, or the entire image on an empty grid. This makes the unit completely flexible for both left-handed and right-handed students. Ten review questions and an answer key are also included. Landforms included are a bay, fold mountain, island, isthmus, lake, mesa, peninsula, shield volcano, stratovolcano, and valley. 31 pages total.
Print & Cursive Connections: Landforms: This unit is designed to help young writers see the connection between print and cursive by practicing them together while enjoying learning about types of landforms. In the first pages of the unit, words are stacked so that print is immediately followed by cursive. Students then trace the words in the same pattern. Finally, students can write both words following the pattern. After the twenty-nine individual terms, students can practice twenty-nine complete sentences using the same pattern. 74 pages total.
