Description
With the People of Pearl Harbor Notebooking Journal, students have the opportunity to investigate men and women connected to the events of December 7, 1941. Most were directly impacted by the events at Pearl Harbor. A few are world leaders who were involved in different ways. Some were the attackers themselves. But there were many other people, some civilians and some military personnel, from around the world who were involved in the events of that day or were impacted by them. Some were innocent bystanders. Some were rescue personnel who responded to the fires that followed the bombing. Some were doctors and nurses. Some were construction workers. Many became heroes. This book gives students a way to learn about forty-two of them.
For each individual, space is provided for students to record the date of birth and date of death (if known), if the person was a member of the military (and if so, their rank and the nation they served), where they were located during the attack, and what actions they took during the attack. A blank page is also included for the student to include additional individuals not covered in this book, and students are encouraged to talk to friends and family members to learn more stories they can record.
Notebooking Journals are designed to help students learn to conduct independent research. While information for completing this notebooking journal can be found in a number of ways utilizing books and the Internet, because of the difficulty of finding information about some of the specific individuals included, a list of suggested websites where students can learn about these individuals is also included.
48 pages total. Ages 8-13.
