The Draw and Explore Literature series is a great way to combine art and popular stories. A short summary of ten different Aesop fables is given. Each is followed by an image on a grid. Next, students can do one or both of the assignments that follow. They can draw half of the image in a grid that shows half of the picture, or they can draw the entire image on an empty grid. Ten review questions and an answer key are also included. Summaries of the following fables are included: “Belling the Cat”; “The Crow and the Pitcher”; “The Dog and His Reflection”; “The Fox and the Grapes”; “The Fox and the Stork”; “The Lion and the Mouse”; “The Tortoise and the Hare”; “The Milkmaid and Her Pail”; “The Shepherd Boy and the Wolf”; and “The Miller, His Son, and Their Donkey.” 26 pages total. Ages 8-13.
